One of my new clients this week said to me, “I didn’t realize how much stuff I had to do to retire, I thought you retired and could just relax”.
What she was referring to was the fact that for the past 30 years she has never had to worry about any of her health benefits because they were always offered through her workplace, now she is out on her own and does not have an HR department to help answer questions. Now that you are out on your own, let us help you find the information you need.
How do you apply for Medicare?
Most people call our office looking for the local Medicare office, what you need to know is that the Social Security Office is who helps you enroll in to Original Medicare.
When you are ready to enroll, you can call or stop by your local Social Security office or visit their online application which you can find here:
Once you get enrolled in Original Medicare and find out what your Medicare effective date is, give us a call at 816-254-6100 to find out what companies and products are available in your area.
