What insurance do I need to run an Airbnb?

Homeowner’s Insurance Policies Typically Won’t Cover Airbnb

Airbnb is a business transaction; therefore, you’ll typically need a commercial insurance policy with a few exceptions.

  • If you currently live in the home AND renting on Airbnb, you will want to find an insurance company that provides a homeshare endorsement to provide some coverage
  • If you do not live in the property, it is considered a business, and at a minimum will want to find a company willing to cover the property with landlord insurance that allows short-term rental activities.

Not all companies provide coverage for short-term rental activities. If you have additional questions, contact your friends at Beacon Point Insurance.
