What is Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap)?

Medicare Supplement insurance, often called “Medigap,” helps pay some of the out-of-pocket costs not paid by Original Medicare (Parts A and B).

There are ten federally mandated plans. Regardless of which insurance company sells it, each Medicare Supplement plan provides the same core services.

Note: In Massachusetts, Minnesota and Wisconsin, there are different standardized plan options available.
